Collegiate Studies in Ranikhet

After a 10-hour journey from Rishikesh into the Himalayan foothills, we reached our destination in Ranikhet. There our NGO, Pan-Himalayan Grassroots Development Organization, and a renown college professor in local culture, traditions and development in the state of Uttarakhand gave opening lectures to the students. He spoke to the geological creation of the Himalayan mountains with plate tectonics. He was especially insightful concerning the plurality of mythological, religious, and cultural traditions throughout the region. Additionally, he elaborated on the development challenges necessary to lift these many peoples to a higher socio-economic status.

It was a magical end to a long and exhausting day. The Himalayas are faintly in the background.

Shanti, shanti, shanti!
Love, Mr. Nelson
